For me, Sundays are a time to unwind and relax. Since I work on weekdays, therefore weekends are sacred to me, especially Sundays. How I like to spend days usually varies depending on my mood and often sadly enough about the weather (my general mood depends strongly on the weather). If it’s beautiful weather, I love to be outdoors, breathing the fresh air and enjoying the sounds of nature – taking it all in. However, if the weather isn’t decent I love to stay indoors and cozy up.
Here are some of my tips for a chill & relaxed Sunday:
Read a good book
I love immersing myself in a good book. Usually, I totally lose the track of time while reading and I think it is probably one of the most wonderful feelings. Unfortunately, during the weekdays I haven’t got much time to read and if so it is usually just the newspapers I skim through. That’s why Sundays are the perfect time to read. I am not in a rush anywhere so I don’t need to keep my eyes on the clock all the time. Get lost in a novel or made educate yourself with a self-help book or and biography.
I am currently reading The Singles Game by Lauren Weisberger, the author of The Devil Wears Prada. It’s a fast-paced, funny, enjoyable book, which I think would be a perfect one to bring to the beach on summer vacation.
Treat yourself, your body and your mind with a blissful home spa. Put on a refreshing face mask, moisturize your body or do yourself a mani- or pedicure, or why not both? Take this time to just be still and notice the sensations of your body. If you like to make it more entertaining, why not call some of your friends? Perhaps you can paint each other’s nails while having an enjoyable chat. If you prefer someone else doing the job, maybe book an appointment to an actual spa and having a relaxing day there.
My favorite face mask at the moment is the Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque from Khiel’s. It instantly brightens up your skin and effectively clears out the pores.
As I already mentioned I love spending time outdoors. My work consists mainly of time sitting in front of the computer so during my spare time I always make time to get my body moving. I usually start the day with a gentle yoga routine, which I highly recommend. It’s my time to set an intention for the day and a time to just be still. On Sundays, I do prefer to take a walk outside. Since I live in the city, I usually just go to the park or follow a pedestrian wherever it may take me.
There are many great yoga videos online, which you can do at home. Myself, I love to watch videos by Yoga with Adriene. You can find her Morning yoga routines HERE.
Netflix & Chill
Somedays you have that feeling that you simply want to cozy up by the television and not move a muscle. That’s so OK too. Perhaps you want to take this time to watch a movie you have been longing to watch. Or maybe you want to re-watch you favorite film of all times. Maybe gather a group of friends and make yourself some yummy snacks and binge-watch movies or series together. What’s better than catch up episodes on your favorite series? Recently I have been catching up on Game of Thrones (I know, I am so late). But I never really thought it would be my kind of series, but then I had to see for myself what all the fuss was about and now I’m hooked.
What are your favorite series at the moment?
I hope you liked this different kind of post, and please let me know what you thought in the comments or share some of your favorite things to do on a Sunday.
