Being happy can sometimes be the hardest thing in life. Everyone is trying to find happiness and we all have some idea of what it feels like. But sometimes it just does not feel like it. I don’t think there’s one big secret that everyone can follow. For the most part, we all understand the basic but we forget them when they matter most. Here is my list.
Friends & Family
I am so grateful for the people I have around me. They play an invaluable role in my life. Having their support means the world to me. It is also scientifically proven that having deep, meaningful relationships makes you happier.

Creating and meeting goals may be one of the most satisfying things in life. Having something to work for is important. Success is a journey, not a destination. The road is often more important than the outcome. The same applies for happiness. You do not “arrive” at happiness. Instead create small, attainable steps to work for.
Traveling, reading, learning, trying new things, doing whatever things that set your soul on fire. Taking some time each day to do something that gives you joy allows us to focus on the moment, creating a state called flow. In this state we lose the sense of time and place. For me these moments often occur when I am drawing, reading or doing yoga.
Take some time to think about which things in your everyday life make you happy. With gratitude acknowledge these goodnesses in your life. I would love to hear what makes you happy today!
